Our focus is to provide students with technical distinction, expression & joy through dance and movement. We follow the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and CDTA Ballet syllabus providing examination, performance and competitive opportunities to students. Classes are offered in the following styles: Mommy & Me, Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet, Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, Tap, Contemporary, Acro and Hip-Hop.
Ages 18 months – Adult.

Some of the classes we offer are:
Mommy & Me:
Help your child discover movement, expression and an introduction to the joy of dance. Students will learn class structure and interaction with others through a safe and special experience with mommy *or Dad/Grandparent. Class activities are focused to develop body awareness, imagination, rhythm and a love for movement and dance.
Ages 18 months-36 months.
Creative Movement:
Having fun, exploring movement concepts, developing dance skills, strengthening the body and brain, interacting with others – it all happens in Creative Movement class. Dance activities are focused to develop body awareness, rhythm, flexibility and co-ordination; in a fun and nurturing atmosphere.br />
Ages 3-4yrs.
Pre-Ballet
Students begin to learn syllabus from the RAD and CDTA, preparing for preliminary dance examinations. Exercises are focused to develop co-ordination, rhythm and flexibility using fun and imaginative concepts to capture the attention of young minds.br />
Ages 5-6yrs.
Wear to Buy:
This year East Coast Dance Academy will be selling a small selection of dancewear such as bodysuits, tights and ballet slippers as well as our Hip-Hop uniforms. To fill your other needs for dance clothing purchases we recommend “Artistic Sole” now located in Halifax’s North End 5653 Hennessey Street.
